Rev. Protopresbyter Basil C. Gikas

Father Bill was born and raised in New York City to immigrant parents, Spiros and Antonia Gikas. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and has done post graduate work in human resources at Rutgers University.

He was ordained to the diaconate in January 2000 and to the priesthood in January 2001 by His Grace Bishop Demetrios Couchell.

Fr. Bill served as the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries for the Diocese of New Jersey from March 2000 to September 2002. From September to December 2002, he led the start-up parish of Saint Anna in Flemington, NJ before being assigned to serve as pastor of the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church of Trenton, NJ for nine years.

He was bestowed the offikion of Economos by His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos in December 2007. Fr. Bill undertook his current assignment at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wyckoff, NJ on January 1, 2012.

His wife, Presvytera Sophia (Mindy), is a human resources executive with an international public relations firm in New York City. They have two children, Justin and Lillianna.

His Grace Bishop Apostolos of Medeia

His Grace Bishop Apostolos of Medeia was born Evangelos Koufallakis on the island of Rhodes, Greece.  He is the second of four children of Ioannis and Stergia Koufallakis. He completed his primary education on the island of Rhodes.  In 1990, he was accepted at the historical Ecclesiastical School of Patmos, also known as Patmeada, where he was first introduced to, and later mastered Orthodox Byzantine Music and Hymnology.  Learn more here.
